broei.lab unfold offers two creative courses—video & music—designed to help you explore your talents and create something extraordinary. In 8 sessions, you’ll develop your own project, guided by a professional, and present it during a final showcase at Funke.
In this workshop, we’ll explore the creative and technical tools that directors use to bring stories to life—from framing and shot composition to camera movements, sound, and editing. You’ll learn how to apply these techniques to make compelling videos and get a deeper understanding of the filmmaking process along the way.
The workshop is all about helping each participant develop their own video project, from the first idea to the final cut. Every week, we’ll meet to share our progress, watch each other’s work and brainstorm ideas together. Between sessions, you’ll work independently to move your project forward. At the end, we’ll celebrate all the hard work with an exhibition at Funke, where we’ll showcase all the completed projects!
A basic understanding of video-making can be helpful, but it’s not a must—what matters most is enthusiasm and motivation. You’ll need a way to film (like a camera or smartphone) and access to a computer for editing.
At the end, all participants will showcase their work during an exhibition at Funke.

Romain Vennekens is a filmmaker, photographer and art director. His work includes documentary and fiction films, music videos, and collaborations with art institutions and national Belgian television. In addition to his creative activities, he regularly leads video workshops for both art students and those eager to explore video making.
