Blikkenwerpers is an art project by Hujo and Dwaalzin, where we collaborate with volunteers and makers to create exhibitions focused on secular humanistic themes.
Why Blikkenwerpers? Often, the biggest challenge artists face is financial. Blikkenwerpers aims to remove this barrier by giving artists across Flanders the chance to experiment on a budget. The works you can admire are the result of these opportunities!
After several meetings and brainstorming sessions with our volunteers—who played a key role in guiding communication, planning, and setup—we assembled a group of makers. Together, we transformed the showroom of Broei into the exposition where you can visit 9-13 oct and 16-20 oct, centered around the theme of Boundaries. Each artist reflected on what this theme means to them and found ways to express it through various forms of media.
We are excited to share these personal interpretations of where boundaries begin, what they are, and how they can be perceived at our Blikkenwerpers expo in the creative space of 'Broei.'
