In less than one week, it's finally time to come together and walk the talk during the free weekend festival @broei.be ✨️ This event grew from my own frustration as an artist about the challenging world of creative entrepreneurship and the search for an artsy community. Many of my friends were going through the same struggles (Where to start selling? What's legal? Who can we contact? Where do I find clients of budget? Is everyone else experiencing these issues? Where are the other artists in their process? ...). So, I wanted to create an event to bring some clearness and comfort to (starting) artists.
Last year, @ghenteyc launched an open call for subsidized youth projects in Ghent and @l_ix_ and I decided to hand in 'Colour The Streets' and 'Walk The Talk Fest' and got our budget!! We both worked so hard on our projects and met many interesting people along the way. This journey made us grew a lot as artists and organizers.
Today marks the 10th monthy edition of @youcolourthestreets at Graffitistraatje and next weekend it's the first edition of the festival (details and promo on the same insta). I am so proud of what we did these past months and hope we can reach as many of you as possible on 12 + 13 October in Broei, Gent. Big thanks to everyone who helped along the way 💕
